Organization Hierarchy & Architecture

Understand the organizational structure of UIDesigner: Organizations, Teams, Projects, and Permissions.

Organizational Structure

UIDesigner organizes work into a clean three-tier hierarchy:

  1. Organization (Organization): The top-level account representing your agency, company, or design studio. Billing, subscriptions, credit balances, storage quotas, and member administration are managed at the organization level.
  2. Teams (Functional Groups): Sub-groupings within a organization (such as Engineering, Design, or Client Accounts) used to bulk-assign permissions across multiple projects.
  3. Projects: Specific client engagements or web properties (e.g., Acme Corp Redesign). Projects can be Review Projects (human feedback) or Audit Projects (automated standards checks).

Organization Roles vs. Project Permissions

UIDesigner separates organization-wide administration from per-project access:

  • Organization Roles (Owner, Admin, Member): Control organization settings, team member invitations, and subscription billing.
  • Project Access Levels (Manager, Contributor, Viewer): Control who can inspect, comment, or modify settings on an individual website review or audit.
