Hybrid Engine: Deterministic Rules & AI Probes

Understand UIDesigner's two-wave inspection pipeline combining sub-second deterministic rule checks with deep AI vision probes.

Two-Wave Architecture

Modern web inspection requires both strict mathematical certainty and human-like perceptual reasoning. UIDesigner Audit utilizes a specialized two-wave inspection pipeline to deliver the best of both worlds.

Wave 1: Fast Deterministic Analysis

The first wave executes instantly in headless browser sandboxes:

  • Mathematical Color Space Calculations: Computes exact APCA and WCAG contrast ratios across computed CSS styles and background colors.
  • DOM Hierarchy Analysis: Inspects HTML validity, heading tree hierarchies (h1 → h2 → h3), ARIA attributes, and required form labels.
  • Layout Math & Geometry: Calculates bounding rects to detect container overflows, negative margins pushing elements offscreen, and horizontal scrollbars.
  • Credit Cost: 0 Credits / Free. Deterministic rules are included in all organization plans and consume zero credits or tokens.

Wave 2: Deep AI Vision & Content Probes

Certain visual defects cannot be discovered by simple code linters alone. For example, text may mathematically have high contrast against a solid CSS background, but a busy background photograph or animated hero banner might render it unreadable to human eyes.

Wave 2 deploys intelligent AI inspection probes:

  • Perceptual Contrast on Imagery: AI vision models evaluate legibility across dynamic background photography, textures, and video backgrounds.
  • Visual Overlap & Z-Index Glitches: Detects floating action buttons, sticky cookie banners, or modal backdrops obscuring critical call-to-actions.
  • Content & Copy Integrity: Analyzes web text for placeholder text leaks (e.g., Lorem ipsum or TODO), robotic automated translations, and grammar inconsistencies.
  • Token-Based Metering: Wave 2 AI probes consume credits dynamically based on actual input and output token consumption. You always see the token breakdown in your audit report.
